W. Fred Houck, 81, a native of Gallia County, died Monday, January 20 in Opelika, Ala.
He wasborn March 15, 1910, son of the late Alva and Maude Houck, Mercerville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Shaw Houck approximately eight years ago.
One daughter and a son-in-law survive, Joy and Jim Booton, of Opelika, along wth one grandson, Brad Booton, South Carolina; three brothers, Alva Clay Houck, Columbus; Carl Houck, Russell, Ky., and Gene Houck, Mercerville; two sisters, Nellie Clary, Winter Haven, Fla., and Ruby Sheets, Mercerville.
Funeral servicers will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Jeffcoat Funeral Chapel, Opalika, Ala.,with burial in Garden Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home
