Clairanna McClung grew up in New Matamoras, Ohio and lived in Spencer, West Virginia for all of her married life, was a well-known citizen, and worked as a legal secretary for Ryan and Scott, Attorneys, and Richard Brumbaugh, Attorney. She was formerly executive secretary of the Roane County Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a longtime member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Spencer Women's Club and several other fraternal organizations. Her one child, Samuel Brenton McClung, was born Dec 13, 1932 at Spencer, Roane County, West Virginia and died Jan 30, 2009 at Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia; he was cremated but has not yet been interred.
