Robert Louis Bozarth, 89 of Bastrop, Texas, was called home to heaven by our Lord on December 11, 2011. He was born on February 28, 1922, near Buda, Texas to Grover and Mary Emma Hartung Bozarth. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Edward, Jesse, Howard, and Grover. Robert was raised on a farm. He and his family raised cotton. He enjoyed sharing memories of special family meals, visiting his grandpa's blacksmith shop, and helping his dad in the fields. As a young teenager, Robert gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the Colorado River at Webberville, Texas. He was a member of Bastrop Bible Church in Bastrop, Texas, and enjoyed going to church as long as he was able. In 1953, Robert married Priscilla Lavonia (Lee) Coe of Austin. Robert worked in construction and built many swimming pools in Texas. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, bird watching, and camping. Robert was also an avid coin collector and also enjoyed collecting antiques. In his later years, he enjoyed long rides in the afternoon with Lee driving, enjoying the scenery, and reminiscing about old times. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years; Priscilla "Lee" Bozarth, daughter; Joyce Bozarth Churchwell and husband John Hoffman, sister; Mary Allen of Palestine, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Additional "family" includes; Jim and Sue Walliser of Friendswood, Texas, and grandchildren; Carol, Jonathan, Sarah and husband Jonathan Kittle, Kathy, Laura and husband Noah Jackson, David, and April, also special friends Jeff and Belle Williams. The Bozarth family wishes to extend a warm thank you to the staff of Bastrop Nursing Center especially Brandon Ester for the care that was given to Robert during his final days. Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. Funeral service was at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Bastrop Bible Church, Bastrop, Texas with graveside services at 2:00 P.M. at Live Oak Cemetery, near Buda. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Bastrop Providence Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, the family request a memorial contribution be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
