Frankfort, Kansas, Index Thursday, July 16, 1970 Charles Ladner passed away July 6, 1970 in the Community Memorial Hospital in Marys- ville, Kansas after a short illness. He was born April 16, 1890 near Wheaton, Kansas on a farm, where he lived until he was united in marriage to Alice Perrelet on April 19,1915 They lived near Blaine, Kansas until 1920, going back to the home neighborhood and in 1943 moved to the Frankfort, Kansas area. He was a farmer at heart and loved to work the soil. Also his great love and understand- ing of horses inspired all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, George and Martin Ladner; two sisters, Mae and Flora; a infant son, Lawrence Charles and a daughter, Rose. Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; a daughter, Helen Shearer; a son Gerald Ladner; five grandchildren, Lyle, James and Loretta Ladner and Peggy and Johnny Shearer three brothers, Ernest Ladner, Wamego, Kansas, Christian Ladner, Seattle, Washing- ton, Aaron Ladner, Topeka, Kansas; six sisters, Rachel Lamott, Margarett Becker, Marie Kennedy, Myrtle Martin, Belle Osborne Barbara Jeanneret, all of Topeka, Kansas and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held July 9, 1970 in the United Methodist Church in Frankfort, Kansas with Reverend Ron Bumstead officiating. Lorene Shearer, soloist was accompanied by Mrs. Glen Forgy and provided the music for the services. Pallbearers were Virgil Linderman, Leo Ladner, Walt Surdez, Wade Reinhart, Don Becker and Lloyd Harmon. Burial was in the Neuchatel Cemetery
