Son of William Carter and Rachel Brenneman.

Obituary

Rev. John Carter was born April 23rd, 1833, departed this life December 12, 1920; aged 87 years, 7 months and 10 Days. He was married to Harriet A. Oliver in 1854, she having died September 17, 1890. He was remarried to Sarah Ann Clawson, July 5, 1891, who also died September 11, 1905. He leaves to mourn his departure three sons, Lewis M. of North Star, William Harvey, of Cleveland and Henry B, Piqua, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him. He spent many years of his life in the ministry and was a very active worker in God’s vineyard. His life will tell for Jesus.
