He was born on Feb. 11, 1935 in Yoakum. He was a retired drafting instructor at Wharton County Junior College.
He is survived by: wife, Rebecca Hanys of Wharton; daughter, Jana Pattilo of Geranimo; son, Eric Hanys of Edna; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call for visitation, 6-7 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Wharton.
Graveside services and interrment, 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rabke Cemetery near Cuero.
