Alvin H. Kibbel, age 70 of Mott, passed away at his home in Mott early Saturday morning, September 20, 2008.
The Memorial Service for Alvin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott with Pastor John Amundson, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery with full military honors afforded by the Taylor Skartvedt American Legion Post #71 of Mott.
ALVIN HOWARD KIBBEL was born June 4, 1938 in Mott, ND to Howard and Bertha (Haas) Kibbel of Bentley, ND. He graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1957. Alvin was inducted into the U.S. Army on November 29, 1961 and discharged from the Army on November 14, 1963.
On June 5, 1965, Alvin married Karen Burwick. He farmed and ranched with his father and later with this son, Eric in the Bentley and Burt area. Buying and selling livestock was an endeavor that Alvin really enjoyed. This made him a familiar face at many auction barns in North and South Dakota.
Surviving family members include his wife Karen, Mott; 2 sons, Eric (Kim) Kibbel, Mott, ND; Bryce (Sue) Kibbel, Ankeny, IA; 2 granddaughters, Leah and Milah Kibbel, Mott, ND; 1 grandson, Finn Kibbel, Ankeny, IA; his mother, Bertha Kibbel, Mott, ND; 2 sisters, Millicent (Evan) Harris, Aberdeen, SD; Priscilla (Tim) Linghor, Williston, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
