SYRACUSE - Jeanette Altman, 86, of Syracuse, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at 7:44 AM at IU Health, Goshen Hospital. She moved to Syracuse in 2009, and was originally from North Judson, IN. She was born a twin on July 22, 1925, to Robert J. & Fern (Dowell) McCombs in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by both parents, and brother, Carl R. McCombs. She was married to H. Max Pugh and Paul L. Altman, both preceding her in death. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon A. (David) Ray of Ft. Wayne and Kathleen (Don) Robinson of Syracuse; 3 grandsons, Sean (Deb) Anderson of Cromwell, Chris Anderson of Eustis, FL, and Darren Ray of Ft. Wayne; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew Anderson of Nappanee, Morgan Elizabeth Anderson and Taylor Heck, both of Cromwell; 2 sisters, Emiline Knepp of South Bend and Jeanette's twin, Joan Peck of Marcellus, MI. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jane McCombs of South Bend, and 4 stepchildren. Jeanette was an active member for 50 years in the North Judson United Methodist Church. A memorial and committal service will take place at St. Joe Valley in So. Bend at a later date. Eastlund Funeral Home in Syracuse is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association or to the American Parkinsons Disease Association. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home: 7458 E. 1000 N.
