Obituary [newspaper unknown] DEATH CAUSED BY FALL DOWN STAIRS. William A. McCORMICK, First Pennsy Agent at Williamsburg, Dies at Hospital from Injuries to Head. William A. McCORMICK, one of Blair county's oldest and best known citizens, died at the Altoona Hospital this morning at 7.10 o'clock, death being due to complications arising from a fall which he sustained in his home in Williamsburg on February 15, 1922, when he tripped on the stairs leading to the first floor + injured his head. Mr. McCORMICK was born in Hollidaysburg, the son of Alexander and Catharine (ADAMS) McCORMICK, on May 29, 1836 and resided in the country all his life with the exception of a few years when he was agent for the Penna. RR company at Huntingdon. When the branch was built from Hollidaysburg to Williamsburg and opened to traffic, Mr. McCORMICK was made the agent at the terminal point there and remained in that position for many years retiring from active service when reaching the age limit. He was united in marriage with Miss Virginia GARVIN on January 16, 1866. There were no children + they resided in Williamsburg until the death of Mrs. McCORMICK, since which time he made his home with his niece, Mrs. J. Edgar AKE at 627 West Second St., Williamsburg, where he met with the accident which resulted in his death this morning. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church at Williamsburg and was active in the community work of his town. A brother, George McCORMICK, died in this city recently, and he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth EWING of Hamilton, Ontario Canada. The funeral will be conducted at the home of his niece in Williamsburg, on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of his pastor, Rev. J. E. IRVINE. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
