Charles O. Rafferty, 40, expired at his home, a half mile northeast of here at 10:15 o'clock Sunday morning. He had been ill since last August with carcinoma. Born near New Richmond, Nov 21, 1899, Mr. Rafferty was a son of Ora and Martha J. Hauk Rafferty. He married Esther Katt at Danville, Ill Nov 23, 1921. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Elmdale and Friendly Circle Class at Waynetown. Except a short time after his marriage when he lived at Spencer, he was a farmer in this community.
Surviving are the widow, 3 children: Dorothy L. Rafferty, 14 and Joan Esther and John Charles Rafferty, 9, who are twins; the mother, Mrs. Martha Rafferty near Waynetown; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Brennan and Mrs. Helen Boots, both of Crawfordsville; six brothers, Leslie Rafferty, Linden; Lester Rafferty, Rochester; Harry Rafferty, Logansport; Clarence Rafferty near Crawfordsville and Ernest and Kenneth who reside with their mother.
