Evelyn M. Monroe, 68, of Olmstedville Road, Pottersville, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born Sept. 16, 1942, in Wevertown, she was the daughter of the late Gerald E. and Alberta E. (Moffitt) Dalaba.

Evelyn was a dedicated employee at The Georgian Resort as head housekeeper for many years.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Besides her parents, one infant sister, Geraldine Dalaba predeceased her.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Kenneth W. Monroe of Pottersville; her children: Sandra Ferry of Pottersville, Daniel Hayes and his wife, Cindy. of Granville, Jerry Hayes of Pottersville, and Kelly Wolfe and her husband, Ricky also of Pottersville; six grandchildren, Samantha Werne and her husband, Joe, Stephen Ferry and his wife, Dawn, Jennifer Graham and her husband, Matt, Adam Hayes, and Sabrina Wolfe-Mueller and her husband, Chris; three great- grandchildren, Aubrie Werne, Lucas Graham, and Drayven Mueller; one brother, Philip Dalaba and his wife, Patricia; one aunt, Shirley Wheeler of Pottersville; several nieces, nephews cousins, and dear friends.

At Evelyn's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Harriet Busch and her staff at Chestertown Hudson Headwaters Health Network, Evelyn's home health aide, Vicki Amatuzzi, public nurse, Barb Moehringer, North Warren EMS, Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department and the staff at Glens Falls Hospital.

Donations, in loving memory of Evelyn, may be made to The American Lung Association of Northeastern New York, 3 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205-1187.
