SOUTHSIDE — James Doyle Bunch, 68, of Southside died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, in a Batesville hospital.

Born Jan. 20, 1943, in Cushman, he was the son of Frank and Alma White Bunch. He was a superintendent for Arkansas Lime for 25 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bunch; a son, Johnny Doyle Bunch of Maumelle; a daughter, Jeanette Muck of Cabot; two stepdaughters, Robin Simpson of Cave City and Trudy Hightower of Conway; a brother, Danny Bunch of Cave City; a sister, JoAnn Halmark of Batesville; nine grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Cameron Ward, Shelby Simpson, PJ Muck, Bridget Muck, Layton Bunch, Ashlyn Hightower, Abby Hightower and Larabeth Gore; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Ward and Lucas Ward; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Bunch and Bill Bunch; and a stepson, Danny Womack.

The funeral was at 11 a.m. today at Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Aaron Maxwell officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.

Pallbearers were PK Bunch, Jordan Bunch, Jeremy Bunch, PJ Muck, Layton Bunch and Brandon Ward.

Honorary pallbearers were Patrick Simpson, Bobby Simmons, Mike White, Aubrey Smith, Frank Hightower and Cameron Ward.

Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. today.
