Sheryl Coffman, 62, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at home, surrounded by her family.
Sherry was a longtime employee of Columbus Regional Hospital. She was an active member of Community Church of Columbus and lived her life as a great testament to His glory. She was a loving mom, grandma, daughter, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Born in Columbus Aug. 11, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Alfred E. and surviving Dorothy Johnson McCarty.
She leaves behind daughters, Laura (Pat) Primmer and Shannon Page, both of Indianapolis; a son, L. Jeffery Childers of Seymour; grandchildren, Chelsea (Josh) Young, Jacob Primmer, Bryce Page and Andrew Page; great-grandsons, Lucas and Logan Young; brothers, Terry (Joanna) McCarty of Franklin and Randy (Barb) McCarty of Hartsville; sisters, Dotty (Jerry) Hill 0f Waynesville, and Rosy Moss and Carolyn (Darrel) Burbridge, both of Hope; and many nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Alfred E. McCarty; brothers, Larry and Jerry McCarty; a sister, Sharon McCarty Rae; and was met at the gates of heaven by grandson Jordan Tyler Childers and granddaughter Alison Brooke Page.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.
A private family service will be held with Pastor Chuck Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
