Lovington:
Lewis Booker, 50, was killed instantly about 7:o'clock Saturday morning by a bolt of lightning. He was working for Eldon Bobbitt on a farm north of Lovington, but had sought shelter in a barn from the rain. Two horses were also killed.
Mr. Bobbitt had been in the barn a short time before and had started to the house when the bolt struck. He ran back to the barn and found Mr. Booker dead.
He leaves his wife, Fanny and two sons, Vade and Claude.
Funeral services were held at the family home at 4: o'clock, Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Myrtle Storm. Burial was in Keller Cemetery.
Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Marie Morgan, Mrs. Doris Steed, Mrs. Frieda Emans, and Miss Ruth Weeks.
Pall bearers were Rodney Adkins, Frank Bolsen, O.C. Davis, S.A. Booker, Elbert Lawson and N.W. Boggs.
