John Joseph Abare, a retired foreman and pipefitter with Shell Oil, died Friday at a family home. He was 66. Abare was a native of Vermont and a resident of Mobile. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Pittman Abare of Mobile; three daughters, Patricia Abare and Kimberly Garvie, both of Mobile, and Barbara Abare of Norfolk, Va.; one son, Scott Abare of Salem, Va.; four sisters, Mary Jane Abare of Los Angeles, Joyce Cunnane and Patricia Kaminski, both of East Hartford, Conn., and Karen Conselmo of Oldsaybrook, Conn.; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Three Notch Road. The graveside service is set for noon Monday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
