EUREKA - Richard D. Hawkins was born July 30, 1933, in Eureka, a son of Alma and Cynthia Hawkins. Educated in Eureka schools; graduate of Tintic High School. Married Peggy Paxman in 1952. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors: widow, Eureka, a daughter, Cydney Lee Paxman, six months; four sisters, Mrs. Shirley Petersen, Mrs. Irene Johnson, Sharon Hawkins, Iris Hawkins, all of Eureka.

He was en route home from Europe after serving there with the Armed Forces. His wife had been in Salt Lake City early Thursday morning to meet him at the airport.
