Granville Wickliffe, 67, of Sedalia, died at the Veterans Hospital in Wadsworth, Kas. Saturday after being a patient there a week. Mr. Wickliffe, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, was a retired carpenter, having been engaged in his trade in Sedalia and Independence, Mo.
Mr. Wickliffe is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Wickliffe, of Pullman, Wash., four sons and three daughters. They are Lester Wickliffe, of Pullman; Homer Wickliffe, U.S. Army stationed at Dow Field, Bangor, Maine; John Wickliffe, flight commander in the U.S. Navy, in Foreign Service and Dan Wickliffe, U. S. N. stationed at San Francisco; Mrs. Sarah Purdy and Mrs. Gladys Rockwell, both of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Ethel Andrews of Seattle, Wash. He also leaves several brothers and sisters.
In recent years Mr. Wickliffe had lived in Independence and also had been in Pullman, Wash. The body, accompanied by Lester Wickliffe, who went to Wadsworth when notified of his father's illness, arrived in Sedalia this morning at 8:50 o'clock on the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and was taken to the McLaughlin's chapel .
Funeral services will be held at the McLaughlin chapel at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. George Baker to officiate.
Pallbearers will be selected from members of the American Legion.
Mrs. M. O. Stevens and Mrs. Roy Kirchofer will sing: "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Abide with Me." Mrs. Mae Moser will be the accompanist.
Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery.
