He had attended the Houston Schools since grade school.
He served in the Army during Vietnam from May 1967 to May 1970. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two OS bars, sharp shooter M-14 and sharp shooter M-16.
He retired from Mobil Oil Co. and operated Cantrell Trucking Service.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4501 at Batesville, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ronnie Lynn Cantrell Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Rosie; two daughters, Kimberley Dawn Cantrell of Searcy, Ark., and Elizabeth Ann Cosand of Santa Maria, Calif.; two sons, Juan Pena Jr. of Houston and Jaime Anthony Pena of Bakersfield, Calif.; three brothers, Lloyd Aaron Cantrell of Houston, Larry Keith Cantrell of Drummons, Tenn., and Anthony Lowell Cantrell of Winona; three grandsons of the home, Cullen, Keegan and Rayden; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 11 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Nava officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
