Mr. Carl G. Cliett, 60, of 1315 Wingfield Street, Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest at 1 a.m. Friday, August 14, 1936, at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Methodist Church with the Rev. T.M. Sullivan, Rev. J.J. Sneed and Rev. Knowles officiating. Interment will be in the Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be W.H. Hammond, Bob Coffin, E.W.P. Bond, Sim Morris, L.G. Walker and Cason Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Brotherhood Bible Class, officers of the Knights of Pythias, F.P. Gracey and F.L. Brinson. Mr. Cliett was a native of Columbia County had lived in Augusta 35 years. For the past 20 years he had been employed by J.B. White Company, and prior to that worked for both the Augusta-Aiken Railroad Electric Company and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was chancellor commander of the Knights of Pythias, a member of Webb's Lodge of F.&A.M., and Marvin Methodist Church. He was a kind and gentle man. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Isabelle Lynch Cliett; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Cliett, Grovetown; one daughter, Miss Willie Cliett, Tampa, Florida; one brother, Thomas D. Cliett, Augusta; one stepson, Jesse C. Lynch, North Augusta, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. H.P. Harrell, Augusta and Mrs. R.W. Bradford, Milledgeville, Ga., and eight step-grandchildren.
