I. Viola Wert, 86, a resident of Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village and formerly of Middlesex Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, in the village.
Born July 15, 1910, in Middlesex Township, she was the daughter of the late Addison and Alta Grace Wolf Burgett and the widow of Earl W. Wert.
She was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Carlisle Springs, and attended Carlisle Farmers' Market.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Pentz of Renville, Minnesota; a step-daughter, Dorothy Sheriff of Mt. Holly Springs; a sister, Clara Kelley of Carlisle; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Sarah A. Heintzelman officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, North Middleton Township.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
