Marguerite Hall Boyd
Marguerite Hall Boyd, 77, a long-time elementary teacher in the Bend Public Schools, died Thursday at a local nursing home.
George Tedevic will read a Christian Science service at 3 p.m. Monday at the Niswenger-Reynolds Chapel. Entombment will follow at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.
Before retiring, Mrs. Boyd taught for 33 years. She was instrumental in the development of the Mid-Oregon Federal Credit Union and the local school lunch program.
She was a past president of the Bend Education Association and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Deschutes Pioneers Association and the Christian Science Church.
Mrs. Boyd was born March 2, 1906, in South Bend, Wash., to Henry and Ella (Gear) Hall. The family came to Bend in 1919, the year of the "big snow."
She was married Jan. 1, 1932, in Ashland, to Charles W. Boyd, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, and three grandsons. She leaves a sister, Amelia M. Hall, Albany.
