Harry Fleder, 80, died at home on Nov. 21, 2000, after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and
Andrew Verner of Boca Raton, Fla.; a son, Gary Fleder of Los Angeles; his
sister, Freda Donn and a brother, Alan Fleder of Norfolk; a sister, Celia Cohen
of Charleston, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Manassee; and mother-in-law,
Zelda Manassee of Norfolk. In addition, he leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives, and caring friends whose devotion was extraordinary. He was a
warm and special man who will be mourned by all who knew him.
Mr. Fleder was a member of Temple Israel.
Services will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, at noon
today. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Rabbi Michael Panitz, Cantors
Elihu Flax and Jacob Tessler, and Isaac Danker, Cantor Emeritus of Temple
Israel, will officiate at the services. The family will be at 6035 River Road in
Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
