CLYDE -- Jesse Knighton "Jake" West, 86, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Cherry Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. West was born in Hamilton County and worked in Midland as a firefighter at the Midland Air Terminal and independent geologist. He moved to Clyde from Midland and was the widower of Elsie Olivia Hunter West, whom he married in 1933 in San Saba. He married Earlene Slough in 1983 in Irving and was a member of Cherry Heights Baptist Church.
