Keith Francis Devenney, 87, of Junction City, passed away November 14, 2011 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 630 South Eisenhower Drive, Junction City, Kansas, starting with a memorial service at 7:00pm with visitation to follow. The burial of his remains will be in The Humboldt Cemetery at a later date during a private ceremony.

Keith was born February 2, 1924 in Junction City, the son of Willard and Ada (Buckley) Devenney. He lived in the Junction City area most of his life except when he served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.

He spent his adult life as a farmer and a stockman. His love for farming continued until his death. Keith also served as a Commissioner of Geary County for 28 years, during which time he sat on a number of regional, state, and national committees while representing his constituents.

Keith married Wilma Roehl on September 18, 1949. She passed away on October 25, 2001.

He is survived by two sons, Randall and Dennis Devenney, both of Junction City, one brother, Glen Devenney of Shreveport, Louisiana; one granddaughter, Kandice Devenney Melvin of Kansas City, Kansas; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie McPeak of Glen Elder, Kansas; Taelen Devenney and Daxton Melvin of Kansas City, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Devenney; two brothers, Lyle and Leonard Devenney; and two half brothers, Ralph and Raymond Devenney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Geary Community Hospital Home Health Care and Hospice Fund, P.O. Box 3015, Junction City, KS 66441.
