George William Charles Tibbles, died Jan. 24 at Golden Place in St. Joseph. He was 94 years old. Mr. Tibbles was born Jan. 29, 1906 in St. Louis to George Francis Tibbles and Karoline Sophie (nee Gisselmann) Tibbles.

On June 18, 1930, he married Esther Marie Schumacher in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Tibbles was a licensed funeral director for more than 50 years. He began his career working with his father-in-law at the William Schumacher Mortuary in St. Louis, retiring in 1980. He moved to Merrillville, Ind. and in 1991 made his home in Sawyer.

Mr. Tibbles was the beloved husband of the late Esther M. Tibbles; dear father of Robert Schumacher Tibbles and Jeanne Marie Tibbles, both of Michigan; and the late Billy Tibbles; brother of Richard C. Tibbles of Florissant, Mo.; and the late Harold, Wilbur and Raymond Tibbles, dear brother-in-law, uncle and cousin.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 29, at the Stygar-Drehmann-Harral Funeral Home in St. Louis with burial in Zion Cemetery.
