Richard D. Schwindt, 77, 2708 Green Hill Drive, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Hamot Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Erie, son of the late Roy and Marie Hayes Schwindt. He worked in the produce department for Loblaws. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a life member of the Sunflower Club. He enjoyed baseball, bowling and golf.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie C. Scarpino Schwindt; and a sister, Jacqueline Schwindt.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Parker and her husband, Eugene, of Erie; a son, Richard B. Schwindt of Erie; and two granddaughters, Lauren D. and Renee M. Parker.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St. A service will be held there Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 816 W. 26th St.

Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
