Nathaniel was the son of Timothy Fales and Alethea Paine Fales, and served as Chief Justice of the Inferior Court of Bristol County from 1765 to 1782. Judge Fales is noted by the DAR for his civil service as Justice during the Revolutionary War (DAR Ancestor #A038365). He married Sarah Little, daughter of Edward and Mary Walker Little, on August 16, 1740. Nathaniel and Sarah had the following children:
