Alois J. Pauly died on Thursday morning at six o'clock in Queen of Peace Hospital where he had been receiving treatment for two weeks for a heart condition.
Funeral services were held in the Church of St. Wenceslaus, New Prague, at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. C.C. Jirik offering the Requiem Mass. Interment was in St. Wenceslaus cemetery and visitation was at the Bruzek Funeral Home.
The pallbearers were Leon and Randy Seuer, Gary Kohoutek, James Wickman, Lando Busch and Joe Lexa.
Mr. Pauly was a member of the Catholic Aid Society (St. Anthony) of Marystown.
Alois Pauly was born on December 13, 1902 at Marystown, Scott County. He was a son of Jacob Pauly and Margaret Ruppert Pauly.
He was married to Ledwina Steinhoff on November 10, 1924, in the Church of St. Benedict, Helena township. Mrs. Pauly died on July 2, 1961.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Seuer and Mrs. Walter (Georgene) Kohoutek, both of New Prague; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Sylvester and Peter Pauly, Jordan, and Jacob Pauly, Bloomington; and five sisters, Sister M. Ambrosita, OSB, Richfield, Mrs. Carl (Della) Wagner, Jordan, Mrs. Chris (Margaret) Doerr, So. Dak., Mrs. LeRoy (Sally) Blunt, Hopkins and Mrs. Clem (Celia) Lenzmeier, Shakopee.
A son, Edwin Pauly, lost his life in a construction accident while working on the new Fort Snelling bridge on Dec. 28, 1964. Two brothers, Alex and Isadore Pauly, and a sister, Mrs. Christine Sand, are also deceased.
Mr. Pauly lived in St. Paul from 1924 until 1932, and since that time he resided in the New Prague area. He was engaged in farming and later as parts manager for the New Prague Ford garage. Recently he was employed by the Rybak Bottling Works.
