Acclaimed Spanish Writer, Journalist and Essayist. He fought against Franco's dictatorship in the 1960s and 1970s. He obtained Premio Nacional de Literatura in 1991 and was the creator of the detective Pepe Carvalho. Among his novels are "Yo Maté a Kennedy," "Tatuaje," "La Rosa de Alejandría," "El Laberinto Griego" and "Los Mares del Sur." He died while returning from a conference in Sidney, Australia.
