MRS. NELLIE S. HULET
ARLINGTON - Mrs. Nellie Sampson Hulet, 85, died about noon Friday at Putnam Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for about a month. She was fondly known as "Aunt Nell" to most people in the area.
She was born May 30, 1874, in Greenwich, Conn., daughter of J. Augustus Sampson and Adeline (Forbush) Sampson.
She was married to Herbert A. Hulet, who died in 1935. The family has lived in the Arlington-Shaftsbury area for a long period.
Among Mrs. Hulet's interests and affliations were; The Federated Church, East Arlington; Red Mountain No. 41, Order Eastern Star, Taconic Grange, South Shaftsbury. She was fond of people and also liked to do a great deal of reading. Antiques took her fancy too.
Before her marriage, she had taught kindergarten for around 13 years in Connecticut.
Survivors include one son, Thurston of Arlington; one daughter, Miss Lucina Hulet; also one sister, Mrs. Alice Baber, who is in her 80's and resides in Greenwich, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; many cousins. A son Hopkins, died in 1918 at the age of 16.
Friends are invited to call Saturday night at the home of her son, Thurston in Arlington, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm with the Rev. Kenneth McCrea of the Federated Church officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury.
