MARION - Mrs. S. E. Jones, a Christian woman, died at her home near Nichols yesterday and was buried today at the family burying ground near her home. Mrs. Jones was 77 years old and leaves one son, W. L. Hewitt of Marion, and a large family of stepchildren to mourn her loss. Her husband preceded her to the grave by about two years.

The 1900 census shows Sarah had given birth to three children, William was the only one still living. In 1860, she and first husband William had a year old daughter, Minnie F. Jones. In 1870, eight year old William is the only child living with Sarah Elizabeth Hewitt.
