Joseph Albert Hindmon, age 66, 181 Parker Drive, Marietta, died Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Mr. Hindmon was born July 23, 1925, in Polk County. He was a retired master painter with Lockheed and a member of the Brown-Wright Post No. 12 of the American Legion, Rockmart.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mae E. Shiflett Hindmon, Marietta; one son, Terry D. Hindmon and one daughter-in-law, Vicki Hindmon, Douglasville; one sister, Mrs. Lois Ezzell, Gadsden, Ala.; two brothers, James Hindmon, Doraville; Rudolph Hindmon, Cedartown. Three grandsons also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with the Rev. John Paul and the Rev. Ronnie Reese officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Brown-Wright American Legion Post 12 of Rockmart.

Serving as pallbearers were Larry Bozeman, Claude Sebley, J. D. Blackstocke, Dan Tew, Hardy Champion, Jimmy Sanders, Johnny Jackson and L. J. Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers were Lacy Mitchel, Melvin Bynum, Eric Mitchel, James Victers, Ben Brookshire, Doyle Robinson.

The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
