Ira Louis Cosby, 812 South Tenth Street, died Wednesday night at 9:45 PM at the Home hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two months. On July 8, he fractured his right leg in a fall at the Lafayette box board and paper company plant, where he was employed. Complications developed, causing his death. He was born near Kirkpatrick on December 6, 1863, the son of Francis and Sarah Cosby. On May 29, 1895, he was married to Matilda Arnold at Stockwell. He was employed for many years by the S. C. Curtis Dry Goods Company, and later with the Jackson Hardware Company. At the time of the accident, he was foreman in the maintenance department at the box board plant. He is survived by the widow and one son, L. H. Cosby, of this city, his mother, Mrs. Sarah A. Cosby, one brother Sanford M. Cosby, and one sister, Mrs. Ellsworth Brooks, all of Stockwell, and one granddaughter, Patricia Lee Cosby. The body was taken to the Baker Funeral Parlors in Dayton, and will be taken to the family residence, 812 South Tenth Street, where friends may call after 2 PM Friday afternoon. The funeral of Ira L. Cosby was conducted Saturday morning from the family home, 812 South Tenth Street. The Rev. T. F. Williams, DD, pastor of Trinity M. E. Church, officiated. The pallbearers were, Lawrence Cosby, Earl Cosby, Arnold Allen, Louis Allen, Richard Wilkerson and William Bartholomew. Interment was made in Springvale cemetery. Those attending from out of the city were, Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Rowins, Samuel Rowins and Miss Belle Rowins, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Linneus Allen of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. Ernest :Plaster and son, Richard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. William Gant and Mrs. Thomas R. A..en of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Ray I Allen of Elgin, Ill, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cosby and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cosby, of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Sarah A. Cosby, Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Brooks and Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Cosby of Stockwell, Roy G. Wilkerson of Brookston, and Mr. and Mrs. R. D. McDaniel of Indianapolis.
