Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, Somonauk, IL- James R. Pfau, 60, of Serena, Illinois passed away, Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born February 18, 1951 in Streator, IL, the son of Robert and Gladys (Nagel) Pfau. He married Susan M. Wiley on July 29, 1972 in Earlville, IL. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wedron. Jim worked for Illinois Department of Corrections for 28 years retiring as a Major from Sheridan Correctional Center in July 2011. Previously, he farmed in the Serena area for several years and currently was an owner of the Wedron Office, a family owned business.

He is survived by his wife, Susan of Serena; his parents, Robert and Gladys Pfau of Ottawa, IL; his children, Jennifer Pfau of Ottawa, IL, Amie (Scott) Nystrom of Elburn, IL, Rebecca Guzman of Serena, IL, Megan (Jason) Friestad of Ottawa, IL, Peter Pfau of Ottawa, IL and Beth (Scott Govednik) Pfau of Serena, IL; four grandchildren, Tristan, Trent, Faith and Aubrey; one brother, Michael "Mick" Pfau of Serena, IL and many close relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jane Pleskovitch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Rev. John Waugh officiating. Burial will follow in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
