Lee Austin Norvell, Major (US Army, ret.)., of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 30, 2011.

Lee was born March 24, 1949 in Patuxent River, Naval Air Station, Maryland, the son of Forrest H. Norvell, Jr. Capt. (US Navy, ret.) and Ruth Stuhr Norvell.

He was a 1971 graduate of The Citadel and served in the United States Army, where he retired as a Major.

Lee was a member of St. Johannes Lutheran Church and The Citadel Brigadier Foundation.

He is survived by one brother: Forrest H. Norvell, III (Cassie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three nephews: Forrest H. Norvell, IV (Meghan), William Austin Norvell and Travis Woodrow Norvell; and two great nephews: Forrest Henson Lee Norvell and Ford Tompkins Norvell.

The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services at the graveside in Bethany Cemetery, November 2, 2011 at 10:30am.

I worked with Lee at the Home Depot in North Charleston, was shocked to see that he passed away, he was good person, loved celebrating the 4th of july with fireworks, farewell my friend
