Laura Alyce Trantham, 68, of Chillicothe, died Saturday evening in Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, MO. She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Howell County, the daughter of the late Robert and Mattie Ora Payton Bale.
She was married Sept 28, 1937, at Cull to Alfred Wayne Trantham.
She had been of the Presbyterian faith.
After moving to Chillicothe, she was actively involved in the Newcomers Club and the Welcome Wagon.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Trantham of Chillicothe, MO; one son, Robert W. Trantham of Chillicothe, MO; two grandchildren; one brother, Robert Bale of Liberty, MO; three sisters, Lucille Elliott of Humboldt, KS; and Ruth Frazee and Mary Burn both of Springfield, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Funeral services will be Wednesday in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with the Rev. Cody Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.
