Professional Hockey Player. Born in Johnstone, Scotland, he played left wing and was known as the Flying Scotsman. He began his National Hockey career with the AHA's Omaha Knights in 1940 and scored 36 points in 28 games. He played for the Detroit Red Wings (1941-47), Chicago Blackhawks (1947-51), Boston Bruins (1951-52) and was a member of the 1943 Red Wings Stanley Cup championship team. He ended his career with a record of 104 goals, 113 assists, 217 points in 391 games played. He died in a car accident at age 40 in Ontario, Canada and his son Andy Brown also played in the National Hockey League as a goalie.
