Keith Allen Birchfield, age 47, of Vanlandingham Road, Salt Lick, Ky., passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born August 15, 1964, in Pike County, Ky., he is the son of Verndene Birchfield McCoy of Pikeville, Ky>, and the late Elmer "Don" Birchfield.

Keith had a passion for helping others, enjoyed working on vehicles, and loved his family, especially playing with his grandchildren.

In addition his his father, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Cylus Fields, and his father-in-law, Ervin Coolage Fields.

In addition to his mother, Keith is also survived by his wife, Juanita Fields Birchfield, two sons, Ervin Shawn Fields and April Gilispie of Wellington, Ky., and Carl Lee Fields and Becky Robinson of Morehead, Ky., one daughter, Brandy "Angel" Birchfield and James Allen Short of Harrodsburg, Ky., former daughter-in-law, Stevana Lawson, three grandchildren, Trinity Sky Fields, Alexis Leigh Short, and Madison Lilly Marie Fields, and mother-in-law, Cora Lee Fields, three brothers, Tim and Irene Birchfield, Steve Birchfield, and Larry Gene Birchfield, all of Pikeville, Ky., one sister, Lisa Lynn Birchfield Akers of Prestonsburg, Ky., one sister-in-law, Lesia Birchfield of Raccoon, Ky., two nephews, Wesley Birchfield and C. J. Akers, one great-nephew, Beau Clark, five nieces, Elizabeth Birchfield Bornhoft, Erica Birchfield Newsome, Stephanie Birchfield Clark, Destiny Akers, and Allison Birchfield, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Elder James Young, Elder Duane Smith, and Elder Floyd Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Family Cemetery in Menifee County, Ky.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
