Born on the family farm near the Village of Spring Hills, MN; Amalia ("Molly") was the third of eleven children {five daughters & six sons} born to John & Anna Maria (Minnerath) Braun.

Prior to getting married, "Molly" completed some schooling at Saint Benedict Academy in Saint Joseph, MN.

On 22 September 1903, Amalia married John M. Rieland at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Spring Hill, MN; she was age 24, he was 26. John was the sixth of twelve children born to Hubert & Magdelena (Thelen) Rieland.

"Molly" & John had no children... but they did adopt/raise two young ladies after their mothers died & immediate family could not be found to take them in: Rose (Pflipsen) Poepping & Sister Flora (nee Mary Cecelia) Kessler, OSB.

A homemaker, Amalia ("Molly") died at age 62.

NOTE: Rose Pflipsen was the fourth of eleven children born to Nicholas & Anna (Schlicht) Plipsen: who are buried here at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Mary Cecelia Kessler was the third of seven children born to Johannes & Anna Marie (Stein) Kessler; who are buried at Saint Boniface Cemetery in Cold Spring, MN.
