Keith William McGee, 91, of Peterson, died on Jan 15, 2008 at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center Funeral services were held 10:30 a m on Jan 19 at the United Methodist Church in Peterson.

A lunch and time of fellowship was held immediately following the services at the church Rev Roger Maize and Rev Charles Hall officiated Interment was at the Diamond Center Cemetery in Aurelia at 1:30 p m on Saturday.

Visitation began at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with the family present from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Warner Funeral Home in Peterson.

Keith William McGee, the son of Hiram Edgar and Addie Decker McGee, was born Dec 22, 1916 in Sargent, Neb. His family moved to the Niobrara area when Keith spent his childhood.

He was united in marriage to Christine Kreutz on July 6, 1940 in Neligh, Neb. They made their home on a farm near Cherokee where they farmed for 10 years, until moving to Peterson in 1953 Keith farmed for a total of 53 years, until his retirement in 1996.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peterson. Keith was well known for his hard work, sense of humor, and love of politics. He loved to grow things, and loved sharing his flowers and vegetables even more; he liked to do woodworking; he loved to fish and hunt, especially with his children and grandchildren.

He was a great storyteller and loved to make people laugh. You could always tell a story was coming when he got a twinkle in his eye and a little grin on his face.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine on May 9,1987, seven brothers. Earl, Burt, Clyde, Ben, Merle, Roy, and Paul, and three sisters Elsie, Martha, and Mary.

Left to cherish his memory are four sons and one daughter: Boyd McGee, Vincent McGee and his wife Janice, Donald McGee and his wife Barbara, all of Peterson, Ronald McGee and his wife Janice of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Janice Pingel and her husband Brent of Peterson. Keith was the proud grandfather for 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Clinton of Berlin, Wis. and a sister Linda (Bertha) Linder of Aurora, Neb., three sister-in-law's, Helen Albers of Duluth, Minn., Mary Ann Miller and her husband, Merlin of Cherokee and Leah Kreutz of Holstein, two brother-in-law's, Albert Kreutz and his wife, Jean of Aurelia and Harlan Raabe of Los Angeles, Calif; other relatives and many friend.
