Services Set For A.L. Boyd
A.L. (Doc) Boyd, 74, Tipton, died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital following a six-month illness.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Tipton. Officiating will be Rev. Wilburn Dennis, Big Springs, Texas, and Rev. R.D. Edwards, Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton cemetery.
Boyd was born January 18, 1896 in Wise County, Texas. He moved to Tipton in 1902 and was married Feb. 3, 1920, to Nannie Tucker, who died Sept. 22, 1970.
A member of the Church of Christ and Chamber of Commerce, Boyd had served in the Army in World War I.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Bezzie Garrett and Mrs. Allie Hammonds of Clovis, New Mexico, and Mrs. Alma Huffstutler, Childress, Texas, a brother, Frank, Tipton.
