Actor. He was a popular Broadway stage, radio performer, fondly remembered for his role as Captain John Pringle in the film "A Foreign Affair" (1948). Signed to a long-term film contract with Paramount Pictures, his first film was "To Each His Own" (1946). His other credits include "My Friend Irma" (1949), "The Mating Season" (1951), "High Society" (1956), "Affair in Reno" (1957) and "The Wackest Ship in the Army" (1960). He died of heart problems at age 81.
