Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a First Lieutenant in Company B. 4th New York Volunteer Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery in action while a First Sergeant on August 15, 1864 at Front Royal, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag of 3d Virginia Infantry (C.S.A.)." (bio by: Don Morfe)

There is a baptism for Harry Joseph Mandy at Old St Pancras Church, 5th July 1840, which notes his birth as June 2nd 1840. He was the son of Henry Mandy and Helen Wilson, both originally from Coventry. Henry died in 1846, and Helen remarried a few years...(Read more)
