Hettie Branum Couch, 89, of Hot Springs, AR, mother of Lee Franklin of Marks, died Sunday, June 1, 1997, at her residence.

Born June 25, 1907, at Red Oak Community where she was a lifelong resident, she was a homemaker and member of Assembly of God Church. She was predeceased by her parents, Martha Ann York Branum and La Fayette Branum; a son, Hurshel Harold Couch; four sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include her husband of 72 1/2 years, Leo W. Couch of Hot Springs; three sons, Leo Couch, Jr. and Preston Couch, both of Hot Springs, and Arnold Couch of Atoka, TN; two daughters, Lee Franklin of Marks and Kay Dunaway of Hot Springs; three sisters, Bertha Laws of Chattanooga, TN, Orthia Dyer of Hot Springs, and Adell Chisney of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 1997, at Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Bill Meeks officiating.

Pallbearers were Larry Franklin, David Franklin, Jackie Franklin, Steven Couch, Charles Roe, Craig Roe, Van Franklin, and Gene Couch.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Bond and staff.
Burial was in Fouche Loupe Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Assembly of God Church.
