Conda served as a Private First Class, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Allegany County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 17, 1944 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

When he enlisted in the Army he told them he was born in "1925". Actually he was born in 1927 and was only 15 years old when he enlisted.

He died in the "Line Of Duty" in a non-battle related incident during the war at the age of 17.

Perished when U.S. Army Air Corps YB-29 Superfortress #41-36966 flew into ground 25 miles northeast of Alamagordo Army Airfield, New Mexico, August 21, 1944. Ten crewmembers were killed.
