"Susannah Thigpen was the daughter or sister of John Thigpen. John Thigpen was running a stage coach station in what is now called Baldwin, Florida. Family legend is that in 1841 Bryant Hicks, (unknown 1st name) Barber and (unknown 1st name) Thigpen and a slave were killed in an Indian attack and were buried in the wagon they were traviling in, in what is now Macedonia Cemetery in Macclenny, Florida.
