GEORGE MERRICK MARTIN SR. (OBITUARY IN SAN ANTONIO LIGHT, 21 FEB 1917, P3, COL6

"George M. Martin, 61 years old, an attorney at Jourdanton, Tex., died at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Lee Miller, 401 North San Saba street. Mr. Martin was a native of San Antonio. He had resided in Jourdanton for a number of years and returned to San Antonio about seven weeks ago for medical treatment. Mr. Martin is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. Lee Miller, of San Antonio, and two sons: W. B. Martin of Jourdanton and B. S. Martin, who is attending school here. The body will be sent by the Riebe Undertaking Company to Pleasanton Wednesday afternoon, where interment will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Mr. Martin was a member of the Odd Fellows of Jourdanton and services will be conducted by this order. He was also a member of the Praetorians of Jourdanton." -- George M.
