Ida Belle King Hooper, was the 6th of 7 children born to John King (1837-1921) and Nancy Jane Mitchell (1829-1912).
Ida is my great grand aunt because she is the brother of my g-grandfather, Thomas Edward "Ed"King (1878-1914).
Ida married Robert Lee Hooper (1868-1943) in 1893 at the age of 17 and had 4 children:
1) James Gurney Hooper (1897-1958);
2) Vergie Ethyl Hooper (1899-1904) (girl)
3) Samuel Ellis Hooper (1901-1970) and
4) Robert Lee Hooper, Jr. (1905-1972).
Ida Belle died at the age of 77 on 28 January 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama. My maternal g-grandmother, Nettie (Rankin) King Monell - who was married to Ida's brother, Ed King--my g-grandfather--spoke quite fondly of Ida Belle.
