Corporal Leonard J. Blundy, 85, died on August 11, 1995. Born June 6, 1910 in Clinton Co., MI, the son of Mr. & Mrs. John and Elizabeth (Luokenbaugh) Blundy. He entered the armed forces at the age of 32 on April 22, 1942. He enlisted in Kalamazoo as a Private. He was a member of the engineering unit, and, while stationed in Canada, helped build the famed ALCAN Highway to Alaska (called the Alaska Highway or the Alaska-Canadian Hwy). When he left the army, Blundy went to work for the city of Portland until his retirement, was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and was a member of the Portland V.F.W. Post #4090. He is survived by his wife Rita C.; stepdaughter Marie Cooper of Portland; stepsons Paul (Anne) Rademacher of Portland and Robert (Mary) Rademacher of Eagle; 7 grandchildren; brother, Edward Blundy of Portland; sisters Vera Hoover and Viola Thelen of Portland, and June (Don) Hoffman of Sheridan; brother-in-law Paul Bishop and sister-in-law Louise Blundy. Mass of Christian burial August 14, 1995.
