Archibald Young Owings, Jr. was born to Archibald Young Owings, Sr. and Malinda in South Carolina. He married Susan Asalee (Fagan) 26/Oct/1876 near Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the letter written by her sister, Laura (Fagan) Loftis in 1924: this union were born six children - Mary Estelle, Bessie Melaney, William Augustus (who died very suddenly just as he entered his twenty-first year) Jim Fagan, (who died in infancy) Howard young and Arthur Talmedge. The father met a tragic death, leaving the mother to rear the children alone, the youngest a mere baby at the time. she was faithful to the trust, and gave her best in loving service. She was a timid shrinking soul yet she was brave with it all, and we have wondered sometimes at the providences of God, yet we know that the greater the cross the greater the crown, and as now we see through the glass darkly, then face to grace; she placed her faith in Christ above all else. She was a sufferer for years, and went away April 8, 1914, in Atlanta, Ga. She and her husband are buried in Oakland Cemetery, near the center of the cemetery.
